Question by treehuggersgarden: What’s a good price for lawn aeration/thatching?
I started a lawn service a year or so ago, and am looking into doing aerations and thatchings in the fall. My average lawn size is 6,000 SqFt, and I’ll be renting the machines.

Best answer:

Answer by Just me
For here (Denver) a normal price for aeration $ 40.00 plus,as for power raking I get “time on job” @ $ 35.00 an hour.

For 6,000 sq ft I would charge somewhere in the vicinity.

1) $ 100.00 (aeration)
2) $ 125.00 (power raking)
3) $ 25.00 a man hour for clean up.IE 3 men @ $ 25.00 X 3 hours = $ 75.00.

Keep in mind I’m supporting a family, paying Lib. Ins. and the awful price of gas.I pay just $ 7,000.00 just to dig dirt and another $ 4,000.00 Lib. Ins. beyond that. These prices are of course passed along to the end user.

There are so many times I get caught in the thought it should only cost this and end up losing money.Remember it’s the end product that counts. If I could have seen the future a few years back I would have doubled my prices then.

To coin a phrase “it is what it is”

Sorry,My Best

Question by Hawkeye4077: Lawn care…?
Our lawn has a lot of weeds, so much that once I kill them, I’ll need to put seed down to grow new grass just to keep up the green color. What would be the best way to attack this situation? (Our dog isn’t allowed in the front yard where the problem is, and we have no kids)

Best answer:

Answer by r&s mom
well it depends. I hired a lawn company(which you need to look into – its not much more expensive than buying the chemicals and doing it yourself) Anyway I just decided to live with the bare lawn. Well this was just last summer and by this Spring what little grass I had, has spread and covered the entire lawn

A Look at grass types in Pokemon Platinum Walkthrough Part 102 Bertha the Ground Master of the Elite Four

grass types:

Bertha is easy. With water types and grass types WHICH YOU SHOULD HAVE ON YOUR TEAM, this will be a snap. I’m not going to dwell on a boring person like Bertha, she has a ton of weaknesses and that’s all there is to it. Elite Four Bertha Specialty Ground Whiscash Level 50 Water/Ground Earth Power Aqua Tail Zen Headbutt Sandstorm Grass types, use them. Gliscor Level 53 Ground/Flying Earthquake Ice Fang Fire Fang Thunder Fang Got a good range of attacks, watch out for his fangs but he shouldn’t be too much trouble with a good ice type. Hippowdon Level 52 Ground Earthquake Stone Edge Crunch Yawn Watch out for sandstorm. It will be annoying. Hippowdon doesn’t have a 4x weakness so hit it powerfully. Golem Level 52 Rock/Ground Earthquake Sandstorm Fire Punch Thunder Punch FALCON PAWNCH Hardest pokemon on her team because of Falcon Pawnch. It’s an instant KO so be very careful. Other than that, water and grass moves destroy it. It shouldn’t be much difficulty aside from Falcon Pawnch. Rhyperior Level 55 Ground/Rock Earthquake Rock Wrecker Megahorn Avalanche The most powerful Pokemon of her team with a lousy type match up. Grass or Water, pow, dead, next Elite Four member! Elite Four Flint coming August 3, 2009. Thank You and Enjoy PS For those of you who are wondering, Falcon Punch is Captain Falcon’s signature move in Super Smash Brothers Brawl. how can i make my gardens look french:

Question by Anna: Trying to make a pretty cork board?
I have just painted my room Tiffany Blue (and it’s gorgeous btw). I want to buy this comforter set from Bed Bath and Beyond (my mom and I saw it in-store, I really like it):

http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=17273060&RN=22&KSKU=124527

I have been looking for a nice cork board to tack things up with in my room, but I’ve had no luck finding a pretty one one. I have found a pretty lilac colored frame that goes with the comforter here:

http://www.amazon.com/Classic-French-Lilac-Picture-Frame-Solid/dp/B002SFZMF8/ref=sr_1_97?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1274128939&sr=1-97

I want to take the frame and make it into a cork board border. Can I take out the glass and put in a piece of cork? Would it be that simple, or do you think I’d need something to back the cork? What type of cork should I use? How thick do you think is good?

A Look at lawn aeration in Core Aeration – Why Aeration Is So Beneficial To Lawns

lawn aeration:

Lawn Care Ad

www.spring-green.com Harold Enger talks about the benefits of core aeration for your home lawn. Core aeration is probably the most beneficial thing you can do for your lawn other than fertilization. A core aerator will pull up plugs of soil and place them back on the grass. It helps compacted soil and to reduce thatch. The aeration process opens up the soil to allow more air, water and nutrients to reach the root level of the grass plants. After an aeration, it’s a great time to overseed your lawn if necessary. The aeration holes allow the seed to fall into the holes and germinate.

Question by kyle: I have 2 different types of grass in my yard with a distinct line between the 2?
The lawn in my backyard has 2 different types of grass with a distinct line between the 2 types. I think that they were put down at different times. What should I do to fix this problem? How can I make it all look the same? Is there a time in the year as to when I should fix this?

Best answer:

Answer by eddie w
I have the same problem in my back yard..not much you can do(dig up one replant with the other) I just keep both types fertilized good and the color of both a deep green you can’t tell from a distance that they are differant types.
