My automatic lawn sprinkler system has a hookup for a moisture meter, but I don’t know where I can buy one. Also, where does the moisture meter need to go for best results?

Call a local irrigation company and have them sell you one. Mine is attached to the house, of course, out of the way of the sprinklers, over the back deck on a corner board of the house.
