I have a young baby and am doing my garden and hate maitence (just more time away from bubs) i want a fake lawn that will still be soft for him to play on when he gets a bit bigger

I know some child care centres have them but i haven’t seen/felt them and dont know if there is maitence involved to keep it soft.

We don’t have a fake lawn installed (don’t have ANY lawn at the moment, due to drought :-( ), but one thing I’ve noticed when we’ve been on them is that when the weather is hot, artificial turf tends to get VERY hot, and actually heats up the whole area more.
There are some very realistic ones out there – it would be worth visiting some local lawn/turf suppliers and getting some samples, as well as advice on what is applicable in your area.

Hi there, There is a product available called soft fall! Its designed for child care centres! But i am sure it would be available commercially! Although the catch is that its very expensive!!! The only maintenance you will have to do is top it with sand every couple of years!!! Depending on the wear and tear!!

Not sure if this will help. I’ve read that fake grass is not completely maintenance free, but pretty darn close to it!
    Good luck, neat concept.
